Born in Fargo, North Dakota, on January 4, 1919, Mary Jo Henn received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1940 and a Masters of Science in microbiology from the University of Minnesota in 1944 before graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine with honors in 1950. Dr. Henn became an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in 1954, which she remained until her promotion to Associate Professor in 1963.
